The NXP family of load switches can be broken down into two basic groups: Simple and Advanced Load Switches. Simple Switches include basic features such as slew rate control and optional load discharge. Options are available for switching of voltages from 0.9 to 5.5 volts and current limits of 500 milliamps to 2.5 Amps. Advanced load switches are made for specific applications, such as USB OTG Charging and add advanced features such as under and over voltage lock out, reverse voltage protection and temperature control. Most of these devices can protect from over voltages as high as 30 volts on the input pin but can only switch through lesser voltages.
