One of the basic functions of the Driver Logic section is to translate the logic level signals from the Enable pin to the voltage required to turn on the FET. This section can also control the rise time of the FET, to limit inrush current and prevent overshoot on the output power supply line. This feature is known as Slew Rate control and is standard on most NXP load switches. In advanced load switches, the Driver Logic can also monitor other functions such as over current and provide more complex control of the device.
