The geometry of IRC bulk resistive alloy products enhances the performance of the PCB design by elevating the hot spot region off of the board and increasing heat transfer to the air, instead of the circuit board. This reduces the heat transfer component of the resistor contribution to the heat of nearby components, thus improving the long term reliability of the circuit.
