The LT3518 is available in both a leaded thermally enhanced TSSOP-16 package as well as a 4mm x 4mm QFN-16 package. Both packages offer very compact footprints with excellent thermals. Many commercial applications want to minimize package footprint, whereas many industrial and automotive designs prefer the ease of manufacturability afforded by the leaded TSSOP-16E package.
