PCI-Slide10 meh

PCI Express PHY devices are necessary when FPGAs in a system design do not have this functionality integrated. Connecting a PHY device to an FPGA allows the FPGA to then be part of the PCI Express fabric, and in turn, can take advantage of the higher speed and bandwidth capability of the architecture. TI’s XIO1100 PHY has been tested with the majority of FPGA manufacturers for interoperability with their IP Core. More information about the PIPE interface can be found on either Intel’s website or within the XIO1100 datasheet.
