WE-RCDS Residual Current Detection Sensor
Würth Elektronik's WE-RCDS sensor can seamlessly integrate a residual current switch-off mechanism in compliance with IEC 62855 standards
Würth Elektronik's WE-RCDS residual current detection sensors are specifically designed for detecting residual currents within electric vehicle charging stations operating under Mode 3. Their incorporation is mandated to install an AC charging station or a wall box, aligning with the standards outlined in IEC 6181-1. These sensors can seamlessly integrate a residual current switch-off mechanism in compliance with IEC 62855 standards. This mechanism halts the charging process when a residual current exceeding 6 mA DC is detected, adhering strictly to established norms.
The WE-RCDS sensors are engineered employing the flux-gate principle, ensuring the prompt detection of impermissible DC residual currents within the stipulated timeframe. Such detection is imperative for ensuring personal safety, given that conventional residual current circuit breakers (RCD type A) are ineffective in responding to DC residual currents.
