WE-CBF Series – Chip Bead Ferrite Solutions

Würth Elektronik offers a comprehensive portfolio of chip bead ferrites designed to optimize EMI suppression across a wide range of applications. When placed correctly during PCB design, chip bead ferrites remain one of the most effective solutions for preventing electromagnetic interference.

The WE-CBF series is available in sizes from 0402 to 2220, rated for industrial temperature ranges (-55°C to +125°C) and AEC-Q200 qualified, ensuring compliance with automotive-grade performance.

To simplify selection, products are grouped into four categories:

• High Current – Engineered for currents above 1 A, these ferrites ensure minimal self-heating (40 K) and are available in three types: high speed, wideband, and high frequency; ideal for power supplies and DC/DC converters

• High Frequency – With a modified internal structure, these ferrites deliver an extended suppression range and up to 3x higher impedance at 1 GHz; perfect for HDDs and high-speed bus signals

• High Speed – Designed for fast data signals, these ferrites feature low impedance at lower frequencies, minimizing attenuation; common applications include USB 2.0, IEEE 1394, and LVDS

• Wideband – Providing high impedance starting at low frequencies, these ferrites offer broad-spectrum suppression; suitable for control signals, RS232/RS422, and DC/DC converters
