CHARX EVC-100 Vehicle Charging Controller

The Phoenix Contact EVC-100 is an on-vehicle charging controller designed to manage the DC charging process in electric trucks, buses, and other electrified commercial vehicles. The vehicle charging controller, also known as an onboard charging controller, acts as the brain of an electric vehicle’s (EV’s) charging system. It communicates via CAN bus protocol with the charging station.

The EVC-100 is located inside the vehicle and communicates with the vehicle’s onboard charger and the charging station in real time. It is compatible with CCS charging and will be compatible with NACS charging in the future. The device confirms, monitors, and starts and stops the EV charging process by working in conjunction with the charging station. This controller is optimized to connect and communicate with Phoenix Contact charging inlets, as the reduced configuration makes the integration process easier for EV manufacturers. This controller can be configured through the UDS service tool, a program with a simple interface for setting up the controller. No PLC programming (e.g., via PLCnext) is required.
