LT8374/LT8374-1 LED Drivers

ADI's LT8374 and LT8374-1 are high-efficiency, monolithic, synchronous step-down DC/DC converters with fixed-frequency and peak current control. The LED current is programmed by a resistor from the CTRL pin to ground or by applying a PWM signal to the CTRL pin. The current sense amplifier has a wide common mode range from 0 V to V_IN, making the LT8374 ideal for matrix applications. An output voltage limit can be set with a resistor from the ISP pin to the FB pin.

The switching frequency is set at 330 kHz/2 MHz and can be synchronized to an external clock applied to the SYNC/SPRD pin. With the optional spread-spectrum frequency modulation enabled, the frequency varies from 100% to 125% to reduce EMI.

Additional features include an optional 0.2 nF/0.9 nF internal compensation capacitor and thermal shutdown.

Evaluation board EVAL-LT8374-AZ is a synchronous step-down LED driver featuring the LT8374. It drives up to 36 V of LEDs at 1.2 A when the EMIV_IN terminal is between 42 V and 57 V. EVAL-LT8374-AZ runs at 330 kHz switching frequency and features options for spread-spectrum frequency modulation (SSFM) or external synchronization.

Evaluation board EVAL-LT8374-1-AZ is a synchronous step-down LED driver featuring the LT8374-1. It drives up to 15 V of LEDs at 1 A when the EMIV_IN terminal is between 18 V and 47 V. EVAL-LT8374-1-AZ runs at 2 MHz switching frequency and features options for SSFM or external synchronization.
