HMC557ALC4 Wideband Passive Mixer

Analog Devices offers its GaAs monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) double-balanced mixer

Image of Analog Devices' HMC557ALC4 Wideband Passive MixersADI's HMC557A is a general purpose double-balanced mixer that is available in a leadless RoHS compliant SMT package, which can be used as an upconverter or downconverter between 2.5 GHz and 7.0 GHz. The mixer is fabricated in a GaAs metal semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET) process, and requires no external components or matching circuitry. The HMC557A device provides excellent (LO)-to-radio frequency (RF) and LO-to-intermediate frequency (IF) isolation due to optimized balun structures and operates with LO drive levels as low as 9 dBm. The RoHS compliant HMC557ALC4 eliminates the need for wire bonding and is compatible with high-volume surface-mount manufacturing techniques.
