Image of Murata's DK1 Series Y1 Safety CapacitorMurata Electronics' DK1 series is a Y1 safety approved, general purpose resin molded surface mount capacitor ideal for low profile, compact AC/DC switch mode power supply applications. This capacitor is ideal where a low-profile is sought for compact AV equipment, LED illumination, or 1 U rack mounted equipment. Safety certified capacitors are placed at a power line input side in order to eliminate noise that builds up primarily in commercial AC power lines. As a Y capacitor for class 2 power supplies and as a capacitor for primary and secondary couplings, this capacitor contributes to the downsizing and lower profiles of power supply equipment. Additionally, the capacitors can also be used as a class X capacitor as well. The technology of disc ceramic capacitors has been applied to achieve a high withstand voltage performance that meets IEC60384-14 Y1 Class certification requirements in spite of its compactness and surface mount low profile (2.5 mm height). The capacitors also meet the requirements of certification standards UL (UL 60384-14), ENEC (EN 60384-14), CQC (IEC 60384-14), and KTC (KC 60384-14). The DK1 series have usable temperature range of -40°C to +125°C. With dimensions of just 11.4 mm x 6 mm x 2.5 mm DK1 capacitance values are in the range 10 pF to 1500 pF with Y1 rated voltages of 250 VAC(RMS) and 300 VAC(RMS) are available.
