TSP Series Piezoeletric Powder Level Sensors

TDK's TSP series sensors utilize a piezoelectric ceramic sensor element to detect powder in copiers, laser printers, and more

Image of TDK EPCOS' TSP Series Piezoeletric Powder Level Sensors TDK's TSP series powder level sensors utilize a piezoelectric ceramic sensor element to detect powder in copiers, laser printers, and more. The TSP sensor features a built-in oscillating circuit that causes the sensor element to vibrate. When the sensor comes into contact with powder, this vibration pattern is altered, allowing powder detection to occur. TSP sensors are compact and low-cost and can detect both magnetic and non-magnetic powders. The exterior has a die-cast finish that makes the sensor highly resistant to effects caused by external vibrations and provides stable detection characteristics, allowing the sensor to be easily mounted in a wide variety of locations.

Features and Benefits
  • Utilizes a piezoelectric ceramic sensor element to detect powder
  • Ability to detect magnetic and non-magnetic powders
  • Highly resistant to external vibration thanks to the external die-cast finish
  • Stable detection characteristics
  • Can be mounted to a wide variety of locations
  • Compact and low cost

Applications

  • Toner detection for copiers, laser printers, and other similar devices
  • Detection for other types of powder
