CAP)surfacemountMLCCsinC0Gdielectricaddressthe
primaryfailuremodeofMLCCs–flexcracks.Thesedevices
utilizeapliableandconductivesilverepoxybetweenthe
basemetalandnickelbarrierlayersofthetermination
systemwhichinhibitsthetransferofboardstresstothe
rigidceramicbody,thereforemitigatingflexcrackswhich
canresultinlowIRorshortcircuitfailures.
Flexibleterminationtechnologyprovidessuperior
flexperformanceoverstandardterminationsystems.
C0G(NP0)dielectriccapacitorsexhibitnochangein
capacitance with respect to time and voltage and boasts a
negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient
temperature. Capacitance change is limited to ±30ppm/
ºCfrom−55°Cto+125°C.ThesedevicesexhibitlowESR
athighfrequenciesandfindconventionaluseassnubbers
orfiltersinapplicationssuchasswitchingpowersupplies
and lighting ballasts.

capacitor.

Ceramic chip capacitors should be stored in normal working environments. While the chips themselves are quite robust in

andlongtermstorage.Inaddition,packagingmaterialswillbedegradedbyhightemperature–reelsmaysoftenorwarp
andtapepeelforcemayincrease.KEMETrecommendsthatmaximumstoragetemperaturenotexceed40ºCandmaximum
storagehumiditynotexceed70%relativehumidity.Temperaturefluctuationsshouldbeminimizedtoavoidcondensationon
