VERSION 1
Created on: Jun 7, 2012 2:26 PM by autoembedded - Last Modified:  Jun 7, 2012 2:51 PM by autoembedded

Freescale has created highly innovative integrated systems that have helped put advanced chassis and safety systems on the road. Freescale's ongoing efforts to extend the capabilities of these systems include:

  • Advanced chipset solutions for increasing performance and lowering costs in high volume airbag systems
  • Freescale is committed to PSI5 and DSI communication protocols in airbag systems
  • Integrating sensor technologies into cost-efficient System in Package (SiP) solutions that deliver board-level functionality for automotive systems.

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Applications are:

  1. 77 GHz RADAR System
  2. Basic Rear View Camera
  3. Front View Camera
  4. Smart Rear View Camera
  5. Surround View Park Assistance

The projected number of traffic fatalities in 2009 was almost 34,000, and car accidents cost more than $164 billion a year, according to AAA. Fortunately, better road designs, tougher driver-impairment laws and safer cars have all helped reduce the number and severity of accidents.
